Payment timeline

A cost timeline for the months around your move

Use the departure-to-arrival sequence to place Germany relocation expenses in the month they are likely to be paid.

Open paper planner with dated notes

Four to six months before departure

Create the first full estimate. Add document preparation, translation, visa-related appointments, scouting travel if relevant, freight surveys and pet requirements. Avoid paying non-refundable costs before the conditions attached to your move are clear.

Two to three months before departure

Compare freight scope, notice periods and temporary housing. Mark the final Thai rent and utility settlements. Decide which euro costs require funds to be converted or accessible before travel.

The final month in Thailand

Expect flights, extra baggage, packing balances, local transport and farewell-period spending. Keep departure cash separate from the German housing reserve.

Arrival month in Germany

Temporary accommodation, local travel, food, SIM access and household basics begin immediately. A permanent tenancy can add first rent and deposit. Insurance start dates and expected salary dates belong on the same calendar.

Months two and three

Freight destination charges, furnishing and utility bills may arrive after the obvious “moving day.” Compare actual spending with the plan before releasing the contingency reserve for optional purchases.
