Ship it or replace it after arrival?
Compare freight with replacement costs using volume, delay, insurance and temporary purchases—not sentiment alone.
The cheapest freight quote does not settle whether an item should travel from Thailand to Germany. Compare the full landed cost with the cost of living without it while the shipment is in transit.
Price the journey
Request quotes against a measured inventory. Check collection, packing, destination handling, storage, insurance excess and difficult-access charges. Clarify which customs documents are your responsibility.
Price the gap
If a desk, winter bedding or kitchen equipment arrives weeks after you do, temporary replacements may be needed. Put those purchases beside the freight figure. Resale value in Thailand and disposal effort also belong in the comparison.
Make three lists: ship, sell or donate, and undecided. Requote only after reducing the undecided group. Accurate volume usually matters more than debating each inexpensive object.
